A large wooden ramp fills the corner of the gallery with three figures, an adult and two children on the ramp, and several figures visible in the opening underneath. The child at the top of the ramp points up, and further along the wall three birds appear to be suspended mid flight as if they were drawn there.

hide

hide was a ramp structure for children to hide under whilst their parents were encouraged to walk up it and potentially roll down it. A reversal of the usual participatory roles where parents take children to art galleries and workshops to interact, commissioned as part of tibrO yalP, a group show exploring play.

hide questioned what the gallery is, who uses it and the resources exhibitions consume. Following the exhibtion the wood from the ramp was used to build new walls and other spaces, whilst the ceramic motifs were made available to the public through affordable sales or gifts.

A young child holds a motif that she's lifted from a peg on the wall in front of her, which is painted pink with white boulders and rocks.
Four adults sit in a small space with a low wooden ceiling having a conversation. On the walls drawn shapes are hung from pegs protruding from a pink background with white boulders and rocks.
Documentation of hide, a large wooden ramp, being interacted with during the opening of an exhibition. People are seen lying and sitting together at the top, children play underneath, a man stands in front of it and another sits on the edge where it becomes a ledge.
